New Delhi, Aug 25 (UNI) Now 'incredible India' will be promoted on an international airline.
Singapore Airlines will show 'incredible India' campaign video on its 58 weekly services to eight destinations in India, as part of the agreement with the Tourism Ministry, airline's General Manager (India) C W Foo anounnced today.
''The inflight video, which will be shown when the flight will be arriving into India, will garner the eyeballs of more than 600,000 passengers per annum,'' Mr Foo told a press conference.
The airline-- the first international carrier to show the campaign onboard-- will contribute about Rs 2.5 crore per annum in the joint venture, he said.
The campaign uses captivating visual of India, showcasing its exciting diversity in terms of heritage, culture and cuisine.
And it goes beyond promoting India as a land of the Taj Mahal, depicting a country that offers spectacular sunsets, ski slopes and adventure sports and stress-free lifestyle.
''India is a very important market for Singapore Airlines. We hope that the joint initiative will help in increasing awareness about the country's myriad tourist destinations and culture at a global level,'' Mr Foo said.
He said the airline planned to put the video on its entertainment system so that a passengers can watch it whenever they wanted to.
''We will also explore expanding it to other networks,'' he added.
Ms Leena Nandan, Joint Secretary, Tourism Ministry, said the country saw a phenomenal increase in the number of tourists in the past few years, partly due to the 'Incredible India' campaign and partly due to enhanced air connectivity.
''By associating with one of the leading airlines in the world, we hope to take the campaign to greater heights,'' she said.
