SIMI threatens bomb blasts in Uttarakhand
Dehra Dun, Aug 25 (UNI) A prominent ashram in Hardwar has received a letter purportedly written by the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) threatening bomb blasts in several religious places in Uttarakhand.
The letter, reportedly sent to the Shantikunj Ashram, warns of blasts in Hardwar, Rishikesh and other religious places in the state.
Talking to UNI, SSP Haridwar B Murogoshan today said police were verifying the contents of the handwritten letter posted from Meerut on August 25.
He informed that a general alert had been sounded and security upped in religious places.
The state had received several letters earlier allegedly written by the JeM militant outfit warning of blasts at railway stations and other vital installations in the state.
