Malaria kills 10 in MP district
Shivpuri, MP, Aug 25 (UNI) About ten people have been claimed by malaria over the past month in this district where various ailments claimed 34 lives during the period.
Official sources said that swasth raths (health chariots) were being run from today in every block for disseminating prevention-linked information regarding malaria and other diseases, analysing blood samples and treatment of diseases. Doctors from medical colleges in Bhopal and Gwalior toured various areas.
''Plasmodium falciparum was detected in Shivpuri Mahalsarai tribal cluster, Bamhari, Bhangarh, Majhera, Kalothra and other villages. Blood slides were prepared for 318 people suffering fever and 357 tested. Fourteen tested positive,'' said Chief Medical and Health Officer H S Sharma.
Health officials' leave was cancelled.
