LF should sit for talks without any preconditon : Congress

Kolkata, Aug 25 (UNI) The Congress today asked the Left front government to sit across the discussion table with the Opposition without any pre-condition to solve the Singur impasse amicably.

'' Our party has no difference with the Trinamool Congress' continuing dharna in front of the Tata's small car project area. We support the Trinamool's movement on moral ground as the state government is solely responsible because of their decision of not returning forcibly acquired 400 acre land to the farmers, '' West Bengal Congress acting president Pradip Bhattacharjee told newspersons here.

He further said the impasse in Singur could be avoided if the government had announced a ''social package'' for the land losers.

The Congress will oppose forcible acquisition of land not only in Singur but everywhere, he asserted.

When asked, Mr Bhattacharjee said his party would not send any representative to the Trinamool's movement in Singur immediately.
