New Delhi, Aug 25 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today directed all the flat owners, who are aggrieved by their society operators, to lodge their complaints with the Registrar of Societies(RS) in the Central Group Housing Society scam in the wake of which hundreds of flats have been freezed.
Justices Manmohan Sarin and Manmohan had earlier told the CBI to give a clean chit to those societies which are not involved in the scam and have got the land allotted in their own names.
Disposing off the petition filed by the flat owners who had asked for a speedy trial, as lot of time and money is being wasted by the delay in the disposal of justice, the bench directed the RS to look into the complaints of the flat owners and resolve their disputes.
The scam came to light five years ago when various societies, which were lying redundant, were taken over by the builder Mafia by fabricating and forging the names of the original allottees. The flats were sold at exorbitant prices to the innocent buyers.
The former Registrar of Societies and some DDA and Government officials were arrested for conniving with the builders.
