BJP submits petition, demands action against suspended MLAs
Ranchi, Aug 25 (UNI) Former chief minister and Leader of the opposition Arjun Munda today filed a petition before Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Alamgir Alam demanding action against two suspended party MLAs facing anti-defection charges.
Mr Munda, accompanied by senior party leaders including state secretary P N Singh and JD-U leader Jaleshwar Mahto, met Mr Alam and demanded action against MLAs Vishnu Bhaiya and Manohar Tekriwal.
Both the MLAs were suspended because of their proximity to former chief minister and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Democratic) president Babulal Marandi.
Significantly, Mr Bhaiya and Mr Tekriwal have shifted their loyalty to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha supremo Shibu Soren who staked claim to form an alternative government submitting a list of 42-MLAs to Governor Syed Sibtey Razi.
Meanwhile, party's state spokesperson Umashanker Kedia said the copy petition has also been sent to Mr Razi for necessary action.
