Lalu to address MBA students in Tripura
Agartala, Aug 24 (UNI) The Tripura (Central) University has invited Railway Minister Lalu Prasad to address the MBA students during his upcoming visit to the state for launching Agartala-Silchar train services early next month.
Tripura University Vice-Chancellor Prof Arunodoya Saha said, '' Mr Prasad has been invited to address the management students, as his lectures in Oxford and Sims received huge appreciation.'' According to Prof Saha, the minister, who had already earned ''extraordinary success'' in turning the Indian Railway into one of the largest employers of the world with a profitable service, accepted the invitation.
''We expect the interaction would be lively and interesting,'' Prof Saha said, adding that many people outside the University and professionals had requested the authorities to allow them to be present in the lecture hall.
Furthermore, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) officials informed that besides Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Mr Prasad, high-level officials of the ministry were expected to be present during the inaugural run of commercial train service between Agartala and Silchar next month.
The NFR authority was gearing itself up for the new rail link , the officials said, adding that a huge contingent of paramilitary troopers and Railway Protection Force (RPF) had been deployed as a security measure.
Moreover, bullet-proof coaches and protective jackets for crewmembers had been provided in the ultras-affected hill section of southern Assam which linked Tripura and Mizoram, according to the officials.
