New Delhi, Aug 24 (UNI) After new wave cinema, 'going the spiritual way' seems to be the latest trend in the tinseltown of Mumbai with more and more celebrities from the films world waking up to the magic of ''nature's remedies'' like yoga and spiritual healing as a means to lead a peaceful and contented life.
The latest to be drawn to the charms of 'back to the nature' philosophy of yoga and spiritual healing as a means to lead a stable and peaceful living is former Miss India Nikita Anand.
After a strong association with the Dhyan Foundation which, under the guidance of Yogi Ashwini, has been practicing the 'science' of spiritual healing to bring about ''miraculous relief'' to many ailing individuals, Nikita has become a strong votary of the process of 'spiritual healing' as an ideal path towards achieving a peaceful and stable existence.
''The basic purpose of 'spiritual healing' process is to give a perspective or outline on how one should lead his or her life, especially the way one goes about doing things in their day-to-day life,'' Nikita told UNI here.
The model-turned actress said she was drawn to the process of spiritual healing after she experienced its efficacy in healing the human body and how it works against unforeseen diseases and risks.
''After undergoing spiritual healing, or 'pranic healing' as it is called, I have experienced a lot of change in myself. I am sure that half the change I don't even realise. For example, it could be some basic changes like the glow on my face. Further, there were certain things Yogi Ashwini said would happen to me that I did not even know would happen,'' Nikita quipped.
''Going through the spiritual healing process, my perspective towards my career and life has changed ,'' she added.
Nikita said her association with Dhyan Foundation and Yogi Ashwini began a few years ago when she came in contact with them in connection with various social causes she was involved with.
A lot of social work is being done by the foundation- from adopting a leper colony, organising camps for Polio and meals for the poor, she maintained.
She said being an ambassador of Dhyan foundation also gave her a chance to interact with people.
''The biggest impact of my association with Dhyan Foundation is that it has given me an opportunity to reach out to the people who make us what we are,'' she said.
Asked how she managed to find time for her activities with the Dhyan foundation amid her busy shooting schedules, Nikita said, ''If one is committed to a cause, it is not difficult to find time.
In any case, I am not the only one from the tinsel world to be associated with social activities. A lot of celebrities are involved in charity work or associated with a social cause, but do not talk about it.'' Before Nikita, actress Shilpa Shetty has been propagating the benefits of yoga at several forums. In fact, she recently came out with a video on yoga.
