UP CM, governor greet people on Janmashtami

Lucknow, Aug 23 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has extended her felicitation to the people of the state on the occasion of Sri Krishan Janmashtami.

In her message the UP CM said, Sri Krishna's philosophy of ''Nishkam Karma'' encompasses the feeling of ''sarvjan hitai sarvjan sukhai.'' The knowledge imparted by the lord to Arjun at the time of ''Mahabharat'' would always guide people to follow the path leading to welfare of all, she added.

She further appealed to people to take inspiration from lord Krishna's life and celebrate the festival in full gaiety, fervour and devotion.

Meanwhile, the UP governor T V Rajeswar greeted people of the state on this auspicious occasion.

Wishing the people a happy and prosperous life, the governor said teachings of shrimad Bhagwad Gita are still relevant in our life and this festival would surely help in strengthning the social fabric of our society.
