Chandigarh, Aug 23 (UNI) Ropar Zone B were struggling at 30 for 2 in nine overs in their first innings in reply to Mohali's big total of 311 for 9 in 95 overs in the semi-final of the Punjab Inter-District Under-19 Cricket Tournament for Dhruv Pandove Trophy at the PCA Stadium, in Mohali today.
Ropar Zone B won the toss and invited Mohali to bat first.
Arshdeep and Yuvraj Singh thrilled the crowd, scoring brilliant knocks of 81 and 74 respectively. While Arshdeep's innings contained nine fours and one six, Gurkeerat contributed a valuable 65.
Krishan Alang was the most successful bowler for Ropar as he claimed five wickets for 117 runs. Arjun and Avnish bagged two wickets each for 80 and 31 respectively.
In reply, Ropar lost two quick wickets for 30 runs in nine overs.
At Dhruv Pandove Stadium in Patiala, Patiala posed 292 for 9 in 95 overs in their first innings against Amritsar in the second semi-final match.
The highlight of their innings was a fine century by Preet Kamal who scored 101. Robin Dhillon (67) and Sahil Sachdev (44) were their other main scorers. Pankaj (2 for 74), Baljeet (2 for 39) and Vinay Chaudhary (2 for 75) were the main wicket takers for Amritsar.
