Naik exhorts youth to join NCC for career in defence
Panaji, Aug 23 (UNI) Goa Home Minister Ravi Naik today exhorted the youths to join the National Cadet Corps (NCC) for challenging careers in the armed forces.
Inaugurating a career guidance workshop organised by the Ex-NCC Cadets Association of Goa at Ponda here, Mr Naik stressed the need for bringing about awareness among the youth regarding the options available, service conditions and quality of life in armed forces.
''Carer in the defence forces has always been a place of dignity and respect among the youth,'' he observed and called for stepping up awareness campaign among the masses.
Commander Utpal Dutta, a naval officer, who had participated in the 1999 Kargil operations and recipient of Nau Sena Medal and Lady Captain A K Garuwalla, a Corps of Signals (Army) officer and a qualified paratrooper, were present as faculty members for the workshop.
