Copper utensils and aluminium ingot falls

Mumbai, Aug 23 (UNI) Copper utensils in ferrous metals and aluminium ingot in non-ferrous metals fell today on sluggish demand by industrial users, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.

In ferrous metals, copper utensils slashed by Rs 100 on sustained heavy selling pressure by stockists and finished at Rs 34,200 per quintal.

Other metals including copper heavy, brass utensils, brass cuttings and aluminium utensils remained unaltered today on scattered buying, traders said.

In non-ferrous metals, aluminium ingot which was steady yesterday slipped by Rs 100 today and finished at Rs 13,900 per quintal on lower buying support by local dealers. Tin slab also shed to Rs 15 and ended at Rs 1,170 per kg on poor offtake.

Rest, copper wire bars, zinc slab, lead ingot and nickel cathode remained flat on moderate demand by stockists, traders added.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 37,100, copper utensils - Rs 34,200, brass utensils - Rs 25,400, brass cuttings - Rs 26,600 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,100.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 40,400, aluminium ingots- Rs 13,900, zinc slab - Rs 10,300, lead ingots - Rs 10,800, tin slab - Rs 1,170 per kg and nickel cathode - Rs 1,110 per kg.
