Chandigarh, Aug 23 (UNI) A seven-member Central team will visit the flood-affected areas in Punjab tomorrow, to access the damage caused to crops and houses by floods besides the loss of human lives.
The team, led by Joint Secretary (Disaster Management), Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr Prabhanshu Kamal, would visit Makhu in Ferozpur District, Sanghra in Moga district, Sultanpur Lodhi in Kapurthala district and Lohian in Jalandhar district, a spokesman of the Punjab government said.
The spokesman said the team would submit its detailed report to Union Home Minister Shiv Raj Patil for a special compensation package for the flood victims.
The team would be accompanied by Mrs Romila Dubey, Financial Commissioner Revenue and Mr Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary Irrigation and Power of the Punjab government.
