Kolkata, Aug 23 (UNI) Bengal BJP president Satyabrata Mukherjee today stated that his party would not participate in the Opposition Trinamool Congress-sponsored indefinite agitation in front of the Tata's small car project in Singur from tomorrow.
'' The state administration is solely responsible for the Singur impasse. There is no transparency in the transaction between the government and Tata group over the land acquisition as all the deals with the Tata had been done by secretly '' Mr Mukherjee told newspersons here.
'' We want industrialisation in the state but would oppose if the farmers' interest was not protected,'' he said.
The BJP leader said in this era of Right to Information, everyone has a right to know and it was the government's duty to inform the people about the details of the deal, which they had not done.
Referring to the Tata's warning, he said the BJP did not want the Tata's to pullout from West Bengal. A solution to the Singur situation could be easily reached if the Government, Tata group and farmers sit across the discussion table and solved the issue amicably,'' he added.
Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to hold an indefinite dharna in Singur from tomorrow to press the demand that 400 acres of forcibly acquired land be given back to the unwilling farmers.
