4 killed, 2 injured in seperate road accidents

Mumbai, Aug 23 (UNI) Four people, were killed and two injured in separate accidents here.

In the first incident, driver of a jeep carrying milk on its way to Matunga in north-central Mumbai, lost control over the vehicle and rammed it into a footpath, resulting in three people death and injuries to two police said here today.

The deceased were identified as Govind Singh (25), cleaner of the vehicle, and Wailet Marry (27) and her daughter Simega (5), who were sleeping on the footpath.

Meanwhile, driver of the vehicle Ashir Ramprasad Mewad (26) and Sanjay Reddy (30), who was also sleeping on the footpath, sustained injuries and are being treated at Sion hospital, the police said.

In another incident, driver of a BEST (Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport) undertaking bus lost control over the vehicle and hit Rajendra Yashwant Jhagade (35), who was walking on a footpath in Andheri in the western suburbs at around 2210 hrs.

The driver fled from the spot leaving Jhagade, who succumbed to his injuries.

Police have registered a case of accidental death and further investigations are on.
