Jawan among 2 killed in Jammu accident
Jammu, Aug 22 (UNI) An Army jawan, among two people, was killed in two different road accidents in Udhampur and Reasi districts of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here said.
''A jawan was killed and eight others were injured, when an Army vehicle, which was on its way from Srinagar to Jammu skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge at Narsoo nallah on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway yesterday,'' police sources told UNI.
The deceased jawan has been identified as Naik Kulbir Singh, a resident of Punjab.
The police and Army launched a rescue operation and shifted the injured jawans to the Command Hospital in Udhampur district.
In another accident, a truck carrying capd ration fell into a gorge last evening, when the driver failed to negotiate a sharp turn near Saad Bhaga area of tehsil Mahore in Reasi district, sources added.
The deceased has been identified as Mohan Lal of village Maralian, Miran Sahib, Jammu.
