Earthquake rumours create panic in Karnataka
Gulbarga, Aug 22: After bomb threats over phone, now the miscreants have chosen earthquake to create panic among the public.
Panicky situation prevailed in five districts of Hyderabad-Karnataka region last night on receiving a message over phone that earthquake will take place and people should be alert. In panic people came out of their houses in Gulbarga, Raichur, Bidar, Koppal and Bijapur and spent about three hours in the open air. Deputy Commissioner K S Satyamurthy and Superintendent of Police Devajyothi Ray clarified that they have not received any official information about earth quake, it was only rumours spread by some miscreants.
A police control room would be set up at District level to provide authentic information and alley fears, the District Police Chief added.
