Mirzapur, Aug 21 (UNI) Police have recovered 1,100 detonators and a haul of explosive material with the arrest of two people in this Naxal-infested district of Uttar Pradesh.
The seizure took place late last night in Arora area of the district.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) (Naxal Operation) Radheysham Vishwakarma today said, on receiving information, the cops laid a trap and apprehended Bablu and Amresh Patel from the woods of Jarharva.
The police recovered 1,100 detonators and three jute bags full of explosive material from them.
On interrogation, the criminals revealed that the explosive material was used in illegal mining.
The arrested, however, rejected outrightly their links with the Naxals.
Meanwhile, district police chief Preetinder Singh declared a cash reward for the victorious police team.
