Stray dog killed in crude bomb explosion in Bangalore
Bangalore, Aug 20 (UNI) Less than a month after the serial blast that killed one Woman and injured seven people, a explosion rocked a eucalyptus groove killing a stray dog near C K Palya on Bannerghatta road on the outskirts of the city this evening.
The Bannerghatta road that leads to the National Park and a number of multinational IT companies have their office on this road.
Police sources said the suspected crude bomb had been left behind by somebody in the groove after security was beefed up and searches conducted in the city after the July 25 serial blasts.
A pack of stray dogs, in search of food, had tried to open a packet thrown amidst eucalyptus trees and it went off blowing one of the dogs to pieces.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Mulla however claimed that the explosive was kept to kill birds by somebody and the dogs had tried to meddle and it went off. No one was injured in the incident, he told UNI.
Bomb disposal and dog squads were rushed to the spot and had begun investigation.
