Stray dog killed in crude bomb explosion
Bangalore, Aug 20 (UNI) Less than a month after serial blasts killed one woman and injured seven people, a crud bomb explosion rocked a eucalyptus grove killing a stray dog near on Bannerghatta road on the outskirts of the city this evening.
The Bannerghatta road that leads to the National Park and a number of multinational IT companies have their offices on this road.
Police sources said the suspected crude bomb was left behind by some undidentified persons in the grove.
Security was beefed up and searches conducted in the city after the July 25 serial blasts.
The explosion occurred when some stray dogs searching for food tried to open a packet lying amidst eucalyptus trees.
One of the dogs was blown to pieces.
When contacted by UNI, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mulla, however, claimed that the explosive was kept by somebody to kill birds.
Bomb disposal and dog squads rushed to the spot and had began investigation, he added.
