New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) Steel Minister Ram Vilas Paswan has congratulated Sushil Kumar for winning a bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics in 66-kg freestyle category wrestling competition today.
In his congratulatory message, Paswan said, ''the medal, the second individual medal in this Olympics won by India, has made us all proud.'' He said Public Sector Undertakings under the Steel Ministry will pay Rs 25 lakh to the wrestler out of which Rs 15 lakh will be paid by Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) while Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) and National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) will pay Rs 5 lakh each.
The Ministry of Steel will felicitate the wrestler on his return to the country.
Sushil is one of three wrestlers being supported by the SAIL in their preparation for 2010 Commonwealth Games.
The two others are Yogeshwar Dutt in 60 kg category and Rajiv Tomar in 120 kg category.
