Chennai, Aug 20 (UNI) Madras High Court today expressed dissatisfaction over the counter affidavit filed by Peruthurai police of Erode District'in a case relating to land grabbing and kidnapping against former Tamil Nadu Minister N K K P Raja, who was dropped from the Cabinet.

A Division Bench comprising Justices Prabha Sridevan and Mr Justice V Peria Karuppiah directed the Superintendent of Police to file a status report along with the full investigation report before August 27.

When the Habeas Corpus petition filed by N Elangovan and Subramaniam seeking a direction to produce their relativies who were obducted by Raja and others came up for hearing today, the Bench, the Government pleader filed a Counter signed by Perundurai Police Inspector.

In its counter, the police submitted that their investigation did not reveal any role of Mr Raja. It also submitted the allegation that the Minister had kidnapped the petitioners' relatives Palanisamy and Gugamani, was false.

The Bench said it was dissatisfied with the counter. The Bench also wondered how the police registered a case against 27 persons and the former Minister's name had not figured in the FIR.

The Bench then posted the case for further hearing on August 27.
