Four die due to contaminated water supply

Jaipur Aug 20 (UNI) At least four people, including three children, died due to vomiting, diarrhoea and other stomach related ailments while several fell sick during past the three days in various localities in Shastri Nagar area here.

According to reports, Hanuman singh (54) of Pervatia Colony died in a hospital yesterday, whereas a ten-year-old child Dippu of Vyas Colony succumbed on Monday. Two children had earlier died on Sunday in the area and several other patients with similar symptoms were being treated at different hospitals.

The locals have alleged that the deaths were due to the consumption f contaminated water but authorities said the deaths were due to routine seasonal diseases.

Principal Secretary (PHED) G S Sandhu said 177 water samples were taken for testing from the aforesaid areas on Monday and Tuesday following the complains of contaminated water supply, however, all the samples were found normal.
