BJP calls for slapping sedition that charges against Arundhati
New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) Demanding the Government press sedition charges against Booker prize winning author Arundhati Roy for her irresponsible and anti-India statements, the BJP today said ''India can live without Arundhati but not Kashmir.'' Strongly reacting to the statement of Ms Roy that Kashmir needed freedom from India and India needed to be free from Kashmir, BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said the sentiments expressed by the author was not pro-India and nobody will support such anti-national sentiments.
Touching upon the Pakistan National Assembly resolution calling for a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP today said this kind of interference by the neighbour was condemnable and will never be accepted by the country.
Mr Javadekar said India refused to even comment on the resignation of former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf stating that it was an internal matter. ''But such a reciprocation was not forthcoming from the other side,'' he lamented.
