Hyderabad, Aug 20 (UNI) Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today unearthed assets worth over Rs one crore during simultaneous raids on the residence and office of the Deputy Director in the office of the Higher Education Commissioner.
An ACB release here said the accused Sunkara Reddy Krishna Murthy was arrested after the raids, conducted at three places at Cuddapa and two in Hyderabad. This included residences of his friends.
Immovable assets unearthed included ten house sites in Cuddapah (Cuddapah, Chinnachowk and Railway Kodur areas), one flat and commercial shop in Hyderabad, two sites in Bangalore and one each in Chennai and Rajahmundry, all worth Rs 75 lakh as per documentary value. The market value would be over Rs 1.5 crore.
Moveable properties seized included ten bank accounts in Krishna Murthy's name with total bank balance of over Rs five lakh, 770 grams of gold jewellery worth Rs 6.5 lakh, net cash of Rs 2.55 lakh, one Hyundai Accent and one Maruti car, both worth Rs seven lakh, household articles worth Rs three lakh, insurance policies worth Rs 14 lakh with a premium of Rs 1.61 lakh, the release said.
Total assets to the tune of Rs 1,00,21,000 were unearthed during the raids.
The accused would be produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nellore, the release added.
