Srinagar, Aug 20 (UNI) A four-member committee set up by the Jammu and Kashmir governor to resolve the Shri Amarnath land row, has again invited the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarash Samiti (SAYSS) to hold discussion on five-point agenda as desired by it(samiti).

''Let's not lose time in resolving core issues,'' the committe headed by advisor to Governor S S Bloeria said to SAYSS. The other members of the committee are Justice (Retd) of Jammu and Kashmir High Court G D Sharma, Prof Amitabh Mattoo, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, and Mr B B Vyas, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board and Principal Secretary to Governor.

An official spokesman today said that the committee has yet again invited the SAYSS for commencing a dialogue to evolve an amicable solution on all the core issues.

He said the Committee has reiterated its commitment to work out an amicable resolution of the core issues, in an acceptable manner, on most immediate basis in view of the prevailing security environment.

The Spokesman said a communication has been sent to convenor of SAYSS Leela Karan Sharma in which it has been made clear that the Committee holds a view that the core issues need to be approached, both by the Committee and the Samiti, in a spirit of mutual trust keeping in view the larger public interest.

The Committee hopes that free exchange of ideas during the discussions would throw open specific measures to address all pressing concerns and, during the course of discussions, the Committee will offer substantive proposals on the core issues.

However, as desired by the Samiti, a 5-point agenda has been proposed for discussions.

The agenda includes working out an arrangement for the use of 800 kanals of land at Baltal-Domail by the Shrine Board during the period of Yatra, assessment of the total requirement of land by the Shrine Board and the existing availability at various locations, a mechanism for retaining overall responsibility for Yatra arrangements by the Shrine Board, without any dilution of its role, reconstitution of the Amarnath Shrine Board and role and duties of the Shrine Board in terms of the provisions laid down in Section 16 of the J &K Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board Act and further strengthening the functioning of the Board.

The Spokesman hoped that the Samiti will not loose further time in evolving an acceptable resolution of all the issues in the larger public interest and peace in the State.

This is the fourth time when the Samiti has been invited for commencing a dialogue, the spokesman added.
