Silver, Gold ease: Bombay bullion Association
Mumbai, Aug 19: Values of silver and gold eased further on Tuesday, Aug 19 in the opening session, with silver falling by Rs 175 per kg to Rs 20,495 and gold by Rs 10 per ten gm to Rs 11,400, from their last close on poor buying support from jewellers in view of weak global advices, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.
In the international market, a downard march was observed as gold fell to USD 792.35/794.35 an ounce from USD 799.65/801.05, while silver edged down to USD 12.99/13.05 an ounce from USD 13.07/13.13 late in New York. Gold slipped below USD 800 an ounce after rising more than one per cent in New York, signalling the metal remained prone to downward pressure if the dollar resumed its uptrend. Following were the opening domestic spot rates: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade: Rs 20,495 Gold (per 10 gm): 99.5 purity standard mint: Rs 11,400 99.9 purity pure gold: Rs 11,475.
