Railway announces smart cards for retired employees
New Delhi, Aug 19 (UNI) In an effort to ease the problems of retired railway employees, Railways has introduced a scheme of "Cashless Service" for the RELHS Card holders on experimental basis.
The retired railway employees registered for the smart Card would be able to take treatment in existing recognised private hospitals of NCR area.
Initially this scheme was being introduced for RELHS beneficiaries registered in dispensaries of NDLS/Delhi area-i.e Basant Lane, S.P. Marg, Sarojini Nagar, Lajpat Nagar, Tilak Bridge, Railway Colony, Divisional Hospital Delhi, Delhi Shahdra, Delhi Kishanganj, Delhi Sarai Rohilla, Punjabi Bagh, Shakurbasti, Tughlakabad and Anad Vihar. The cost of the card and brochure would be Rs 120 each to be borne by the beneficiary.
The cashless card will be valid for one year-- from August 22 this year to August 21, 2009. The forms for the same would made available at the above mentioned health units from August 21, a Northern railway statement said.
