All major express and mail trains as well as EMU trains were halted at Kharagpur, Jakpur and Kalaikunda stations on the South Eastern Railway section from 0800 hours to 1000 hours, causing inconvenience to daily commuters.

JMM district president Nepal Das said about 2,000 party supporters blocked train movement demanding the inclusion of the three districts in Jharkhand.
The agitators also demanded construction of a flyover bridge, a lift service for the physically challenged and adequate water and electricity supply and proper maintenance of roads in Kharagpur.
