Flood situation well under control: Haryana
Chandigarh, Aug 19: Haryana Irrigation Minister Ajay Singh Yadav convened a meeting of the senior officers of the Irrigation Department on Tuesday, Aug 19 to review the flood situation in the state, particularly in the districts of Bhiwani, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Sonepat and Jind.
During the meeting, engineers of the Irrigation Department told him that pumps had been installed at all the places where localities have been affected and the progress was being regularly monitored.
They told him that the situation was well under control and would be normal shortly. As many as, 734 pump sets of 2000 cusecs capacity were working round-the-clock in the affected districts.
Capt Yadav directed the officers to monitor the flood situation regularly and conduct intensive patrolling on the banks of the rivers and drains.
He asked them to drain out flood water from the 'abadis' as soon as possible.
