Bihar Congress to observe Sankalp Diwas on Aug 21
Patna, Aug 19 (UNI) Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee(BPCC) will observe Sankalp Diwas on August 21 to strengthen the party for regaining its past glory.
BPCC acting president Sameer Kumar Singh said the party workers would take pledge to strenghten the party and bring back its past glory on August 21, on the occasion of birth anniversary of the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
''Thousands of workers from far-flung areas of the state would gather here in the historic Krishna Memorial Hall on the occasion,'' he said adding several top leaders of the party, including Jagdish Tytler and union minister Meira Kumar, would also participate in the function.
Welcoming the appointment of Anil Kumar Sharma as BPCC president, he said party workers were encouraged with his dynamism and were hopeful of turning around the fate of the party as well.
When asked about the opposition from a section of the party on appointment of Mr Sharma as BPCC president, he said the state Congress was solidly behind him and added that the party high command would take appropriate action against such elements.
