SIMI operatives to be subjected to narco test
Belgaum, Aug 18 (UNI) In the wake of the arrests of nine suspected SIMI activists in Gujarat recently, the Karnataka Police has decided to subject seven SIMI operatives arrested by them during the last six months for brain mapping and narco analysis tests in Bangalore.
Police sources told UNI here today that the seven people -- Liyaquat Ali Sayyad Gani, Nasir Patel, Imtiyaz Dalayath, Tanvir Mulla and Iqbal Jakathi-- were taken to the state capital last night.
However, the Bangalore Police refused to confirm their arrival or give details of the narco tests.
All of them were produced before the Belgaum Court yesterday.
The police had prayed to the Judge to permit the accused to be taken to Bangalore.
Other 12 suspected SIMI activists, arrested by the Hubli Police earlier, were presently undergoing trial.
