SBI branches observe strike in Bihar
Patna, Aug 18: The State Bank of India (SBI) and its associate bank branches in Bihar observed a 24-hour strike today in response to a call given by the All India State Bank Officers' Federation (AISBOF), causing inconvenience to customers.
The nationwide strike call has been given to protest the merger proposal of the State Bank of Saurashtra with the SBI.
Cautioning the SBI authorities of further nationwide agitation, including resorting to indefinite strike, in case the government went ahead to implement the proposed merger, hundreds of bank employees held dharnas and rallies in front of several branches and the SBI regional office here, condemning the proposal.
