Ravi Pillai chosen for P V Sami Award

Kozhikode, Aug 18 (UNI) Middle East-based Nasser Al Hajri Corporation Managing Director Ravi Pillai has been chosen for the fourth P V Sami Memorial Award for his outstanding contribution to industry and socio-cultural fields.

The award would be presented to him by Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi at a function here on September one, Mr P V Chandran and Mr P V Gangadharan, office bearers of P V Sami Memorial Trust which instituted the award in the memory of the founder of the KTC Group of Companies, told reporters here today.

Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development D Purandareswari would give the citation while Kozhikode Mayor M Bhaskaran would present the 'ponnada,' they said.

Kerala Irrigation Minister N K Premachandran would inaugurate a seminar on the Indo-US Nuclear Deal, organised as part of the programme, they said.

KPCC General Secretary M I Shanavas would present paper on the subject while Mr Dr Sebastian Paul, MP and BJP Kerala General Secretary M T Ramesh would speak.

Leela Group of Hotels Chairman Krishnan Nair and Businessmen M A Yoosef Ali and Rajeev Chandrasekhar were the recipients of the award earlier.
