About 50 acres of land has already been earmarked by the Government for transfer to Punjab Infotech for developing an IT Park at Kapurthala. Land adjoining the proposed IIT at Ropar was also discussed.

The focus of the Government is to clearly identify promising land parcels which strategically located. The Government is keen to have an inventory of attractive land parcels before it approaches IT companies to do business in the state.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of proposed SEZ projects with private promoters. The Government invited feedback from promoters for necessary corrective action and assured the administration's support for putting these projects on the fast track.
