Bhopal, Aug 18 (UNI) Union Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath today clarified that he was not in the race for the Chief Ministership of Madhya Pradesh saying, ''nobody'' was being projected by the Congress as Chief Ministerial nominee.
''Nobody is in the race for chief ministership and the entire party leadership in the state remains united,'' he told reporters here during his two-day visit to the state capital, adding ''the unity in the leadership will be visible at the state party leaders' conclave at Chhindwara on August 22.
''What is the need for projecting anybody as Chief Minister,'' he shot back, when asked about his attempt to assume the numero uno position in the state even as Pradesh Congress Committee chief Suresh Pachouri was also a strong contender.
''There is no doubt about the ground reality that the Congress will return to power in the year-end elections as the common people are fed up by the Bharatiya Janata Party's misrule,'' said the Lok Sabha MP representing Chhindwara for about three decades.
