Mumbai, Aug 18 (UNI) American National Kenneth Haywood, from whose computer an e-mail claiming the responsibility for the Ahmedabad bomb blasts was sent just prior to the blasts, was believed to have flown to America without informing ATS officials.

The terror mail, sent to some private TV channels before the blasts, also claimed that next target was Mumbai. The e-mail was sent by someone claiming to be connected with the little-known group called ''Indian Mujahideen''.

The email address that sent the message was created ten minutes before it was sent on July 26.

The ATS (Anti Terrorist Squad) officials had directed Haywood not to leave India without permission. But, it is believed that he might have left the country for America yesterday without intimating ATS officials.

Polygraphic test of Haywood has already been conducted in last week at Forensic Science laboratory, Kalina here. The report was likely to come today or tomorrow.

When ATS officials were contacted for confirmation, they declined to comment, saying they do not know anything about it.

The official sources, however, said Haywood was called for questioning today, but did not turn up.

According to police, someone in the building may have used Haywood's Wi-Fi to send the email.

However, there are no records at the building's security post, recording who entered the complex at the time the email was sent.
