Genpact acquires GE delivery centre in Guatemala
New Delhi, Aug 18 (UNI) Genpact Ltd, a leading BPO, today said it has acquired a delivery centre in Guatemala City from GE Money, a division of the General Electric Company.
The newly-acquired facility is Genpact's first in Guatemala and will extend its Latin American presence beyond Mexico, a company statement said.
Genpact will provide services to GE Money from the facility.
GE Money's Retail Consumer Finance division, along with BAC will continue operations for their customers from a portion of the facility.
''Our new facility enables us now to offer services to our global clients from both Guatemala and Mexico. This will strengthen our ability to offer best-in-class shared services to global clients that have operations in the region and are interested in consolidating their Latin America operations,'' Genpact Business Leader (Americas) Juan F Ferrara said.
The center will initially accommodate more than 700 professionals and has the capacity to grow to about 2,000.
''The region's close proximity to the US makes it a convenient location to provide near-shore support for our clients' customer-service, finance and supply-chain processes. As demand for these services increases, we will explore new opportunities to grow our presence in Latin America,'' said Genpact Business Leader (Latin American) Steve Rudderham.
