New Delhi, Aug 18 (UNI) A meeting of the BJP Office Bearers and top party leaders began here today to take stock of the latest political developments in the country, including Jammu and Kashmir and assess the party's prospects in the coming elections to the state assemblies and the Lok Sabha.

The meeting convened by BJP president Rajnath Singh will review the latest situation on the struggle for land for Shri Amarnath Shrine Board in Jammu and the forces opposed to the allotment in Srinagar. The focus of the meeting will be on elections to the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to be held in 2008 and early 2009. The Lok Sabha elections were also not far off, party sources said.

The recent arrest of terrorist elements in connection with the serial blasts in Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Bangalore will also figure in the meeting that is expected to last for over two hours.

The party will also take into account the resignation of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and its effect on the separatist elements in the Kashmir valley.

The office bearers will also review the developments that have taken place since the last National Executive meeting in Delhi, sources said.
