Mumbai, Aug 18 (UNI) Republican Party of India (A) chief and MP Ramdas Athavale today threatened to sue the new entertainment channel 'COLORS' under the Atrocity Act for inviting him to participate in the 'Big Boss season 2' reality show and then ignoring him.
Talking to reporters, Mr Athavale said ''I was approached by the channel personnel to participate in the show and after getting my approval I was told that I would be taken to the house at Lonavala on August 16 to participate in the show. However, nobody came to take me to the show.'' ''This is breach of trust and castist act. I will take the channel to court under Atrocoity act and followers of Dr Ambedkar all over the country will oppose the show '' he added.
Interestingly, Mr Athavale does not have any document to prove that the channel had approached him.
Faizal Khan, brother of Actor Aamir Khan, had also gone to court saying that he was approached by the channel but was not considered at the behest of his brother.
The court did not approve his contention and upheld the argument of the Channel that it has the right to select the participant of its programme.
