2 school students drown

Umaria(MP), Aug 18(UNI) Two students returning home after attending the Independence Day function at a school in Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh drowned when their boat capsized in the reservoir of Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Station near Birsinghpur-Pali, police said today.

Manoj Singh(13) and Miss Panchwati(13), students of Sunderdadar Middle School, were returning to their native village Maddeha on the other side of the reservoir in the boat on Friday evening when the accident occurred, a delayed report received by the police said.

Five others in the boat were rescued, police said, adding the bodies of both the students were fished out yesterday.
