UHBVN disconnects over 80,000 consumers
Chandigarh, Aug 17 (UNI) Under its ongoing campaign of disconnecting power supply of the non payers, the Uttar Haryana Bijuli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) temporarily/permanently disconnected connections of 80,932 consumers during the current fiscal upto July and recovered Rs 47.53 crore.
A spokesman said here today that the Nigam snapped power supply of 19,861 non paying consumers in operation circle Ambala comprising district Ambala and Panchkula, 17,431 in Jind, 15,581 in Yamunanagar, 8430 in Kurukshetra, 4252 in Jhajjar, 3983 in Panipat 3561 in Karnal, 3483 in Sonipat, 2722 in Kaithal and 1628 in Rohtak.
A sum of Rs 47.53 crore was to be recovered from these consumers, he added.
