3 held with Rs 10 lakh fake currency on Pak-border
Amritsar, Aug 17: The Border Security Force (BSF) nabbed three smugglers and recovered Rs 10 lakh counterfeit currency notes from their possession near Border Outpost (BOP), Narli in the Khalra sector of Tarn Taran district this on Sunday, Aug 17.
According to BSF sources, a BSF patrol party first took into custody Bikar and Ghinda, both residents of Narli village in the wee hours today. The two were nabbed close to the border while returning from Pakistan with a bag of counterfeit currency notes.
Later, Harjit Singh a resident of Havelian village who had come to take delivery of the notes was taken into custody while on his way to Narli village. Bank officials who examined the notes confirmed that these were fake.
The three were later arrested after registeration of a criminal case against them at the Khalra police station. Further investigations are still on in the case as Bikar and Ghinda have given some vital clues about their contacts in Pakistan.
