Jammu, Aug 17 (UNI) The Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti (SAYSS), a conglomerate of 45 religious, social and political organisations, spearheading the agitation demanding restoration of land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) is going to intensify the protests with 'Jail Bharo Andolan' from tomorrow.
''Due to delayed tactics being adopted by the Central government in restoring the land to the Shrine Board, lakhs of people will court arrest to strengthen the agitation,'' Brigadier Suchet Singh said at a press conference here this evening.
''The call for court arrest was given as both the Central and the Jammu and Kashmir governments have failed to pay heed to its demand,'' Brigadier Singh said asserting, ''Besides male members, women will be court arrest on Tuesday, followed by children on Wednesday.'' However, Brigadier Singh also described the situation in the Valley as 'out of control' and lambasted both the State and Central governments for maintaining a silence over the misdeeds of the fundamentalist forces.
''Due to the threats of fanatic forces, more than 400 Durbar Move employees, belonging to the minority community, have already fled from the Kashmir Valley to save their lives. Now these forces have been threatening all the minorities to leave the Valley as early as possible,'' he asserted.
