Paswan demands ban on RSS
Samastipur, Aug 17 (UNI) LJP president and Union Steel and Fertilisers Minister Ramvilas Paswan today demanded to impose a ban on the RSS, saying it was a threat to the unity and integrity of the nation.
Mr Paswan told mediapersons at Rosera that the issue of withdrawal of land allotted to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board was being given communal colour by the BJP to extract political mileage during the coming Lok Sabha elections.
''The RSS is using all its might to spread communal hatred on the issue and create favourable political atmoshphere for the BJP during the coming Lok Sabha elections,'' he said, adding that such trend was a serious threat to the unity and integrity of the country and the RSS should be banned with immediate effect in national interest.
To a query, Mr Paswan said unity among the different allies of the UPA was intact, but clarified that the LJP would contest the Lok Sabha elections alone in Bihar.
Responding to a question on prospects of the BSP in Lok Sabha elections in Bihar, he said the party had no mass base in the state and the reailty would be exposed during the Parliamentary elections.
