Traffic was off the roads and other markets also remained closed. However, some three-wheelers and private vehicles were plying on some selected routes. A report from Anantnag said complete shutdown was observed in the district and other tehsil headquarters. Traffic was also off the roads. However, vehicles carrying essentials and on emergency work were allowed to ply. At some places people took to streets, raising slogans against the fundamentalists for the economic blockade and attack on the Kashmiri driver and people in Jammu.

Similar reports were also received from other major towns and tehsil headquarters. However, a report from Baramulla in north Kashmir said life was limping back to normal. Majority of the shops and business establishments reopened this morning and vehicles on all routes were plying normally.
