Colombo, Aug 17 (UNI) After losing the Test series against Sri Lanka here, Team India will now focus on avenging the defeat during the five-match ODI series starting in Dambulla tomorow.
It's a competition consisting of two parts - the first comprising two matches in three days here at the Rangiri Dambulla Stadium, and the second containing three day-night games at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
In the Test series, the old brigade led by Anil Kumble were troubled by unorthodox spinner Ajantha Mendis and Muttiah Muralitharan.
Mendis was the highest wicket taker in the series with 26 scalps to his name.
Now all eyes are on the young brigade led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni who are ready to accept the challenge and clinch the one-day series for India.
Dhoni assures that his team aims to give their best shot.
''It's a completely different side, you lose a few games, and you win some. But after all you want to go out there, you want to do and it's not as if your players are not putting in the effort, so we look to go out there and do our best -- what we can and we will try to give our best shot and we will try to perform according to our potential,'' said Dhoni.
The team would focus on spin and fast bowling in the upcoming five ODIs against Sri Lanka, he added.
