Patna, Aug 17 (UNI) Communist Party of India (CPI) today described the announcements of the Nitish Kumar government as an ''eyewash'' and alleged that the NDA government in Bihar had failed on all fronts.
CPI national council member Jabbar Alam said Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had again ''cheated'' the people of the state by making tall promises on the occasion of Independence Day.
He said the announcement of Mr Kumar to achieve growth rate of more than 8.5 per cent was nothing but a ''hollow claim''.
''The report card of the three year rule of the Nitish Kumar government has indicated its failures in fulfilling the aspirations of the people of the state,'' he added.
''From the Independence Day speeh of Mr Kumar, it appeared that he was concerned for the upliftment of the mahadalits but failed to say even a single word on rectifying the anomalies in the BPL list,'' he added.
The Chief Minister also ignored the burning issues of power crisis, land reforms and other matters of public concern in his address, he alleged.
For the development of Bihar, the government will have to translate announcements into action, he suggested.
