Lucknow, Aug 17 (UNI) Agitated farmers of Greater Noida would hold a maha-panchayat tomorrow at Ghori Bacheri village to chalk out their strategy against the police firing at the village on August 13, in which four farmers were killed.
The proposed maha-panchayat would be held at the Inter college ground, where farmers' leaders from adjoining Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab and western parts of the Uttar Pradesh would also participate, claimed All India Kisan Sangharsh Samiti national joint cordinator Prem Singh Ghalawat.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Ghalawat, who personally visited Ghori Bacheri village yesterday and was expected to attend the maha-panchayat tomorrow, said the situation in the area was 'explosive' and the farmers were ready for a do or die battle against the government for getting adequate compensation for their acquired land.
''Undeclared curfew like situation prevails in Ghori Bacheri village, where the farmers were harrassed by the police,'' he added.
Meanwhile, the Samiti has decided to observe 'jail bharo programme' in the state against the Greater Noida police firing on August 20 when the entire country would observe a day-long strike against price hike of essential commodities, sponsored by the Left Parties and Trade union organistions.
