Hyderabad, Aug 17 (UNI) Popular Telugu matinee idol Chiranjeevi, a novice in politics, was at ease fielding a volley of questions at his maiden press conference, convened to announce his foray into politics.
The versatile actor was quiet comfortable in his new ''avataar'' and performed like a seasoned politician.
He did not parry any of the questions posed by many senior journalists, regarding statehood for Telangana and decades-old problem of naxalism.
He patiently answered each and every question and gave preference to women journalists, who were a few in number, at the press meet, which was organised in his new party office at the posh Jubilee Hills area.
Mayhem prevailed in the conference hall, which was packed with more than 100 journalists belonging to electronic and print media, with lensmen jostling against each other to get the best picture of Chiranjeevi during his over 150-minute interaction with newspersons.
The press conference was interrupted several times by frenzied fans who were bursting crackers outside the hall, rejoicing their leader's entry into politics.
